Food Sharing Costs
This part of the Food Sharing Calculator helps you understand the resources needed to start, run, and sustain food sharing activities. Rather than a detailed accounting tool, it is designed as a learning, communication, and advocacy resource.
By completing a short survey, you can generate and download a PDF report summarising the costs and resources associated with your food sharing initiative (FSI) or an FSI of interest.
For new or planned FSIs, the survey helps identify likely investments, operating costs, and resource needs.
For established FSIs, it helps bring cost information together in one place for reporting, funding applications, volunteer recruitment, and planning. When combined with the Food Sharing Calculator’s sustainability impact assessment tool, the Toolshed, it can also help demonstrate the wider value and impact of food sharing to funders, public authorities, partners, and communities.
For municipalities, funders, and other supporters, the survey provides insight into the resources required for FSIs and how relatively modest investments can generate significant social, environmental, and community benefits.
